 Miley Cyrus' "Violet Chemistry" is the song of 2023 so far. I got to collaborate with some other local writers about the essential jams of the summer, and I, as the kids say, went awf.

At the movies: Party Girl (1995)

 

Party Girl is back in theatres, and in a revelation/resurrection of a restoration from Fun City Editions.

At the movies: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

 

The Guardians are back. Thankfully with James Gunn. And it's the best Marvel film in awhile.

m83.

 I got to write about m83 and their whole vibe.

At the movies: Renfield.

 I liked this more than most, it seems. It is chaotic as hell, and way gorier than you might expect (though cartoonish gore, not upsetting gore). But you put Nicholas Hoult in a floppy haircut, and I'm going to at least let you explain.

At the movies: Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

 

You don't have to have played D&D to enjoy the new film version, but it absolutely enriches the experience.
