At the movies: Avatar: Fire and Ash.

 

Occasionally, I disagree with the headlines that my outlet sometimes selects. The word 'delight' is at odds, I think, with what I've written, but I did ultimately enjoy most of the experience (3D is awesome, HFR is terrible).

At the movies: The Hateful Eight.

I have no idea how the public is going to react to this movie.

At the movies: White Material.

It's staggering that it took almost two years for the latest Claire Denis film to make it to the U.S. But we can certainly be glad that it did. It's a haunting and majestic film that will nonetheless make you think about what Africa is and represents in your own life.
